The BA (Hons) degree program in Fashion is developed in six academic semesters. The first two semesters make up the basic Fashion Design course, the professional level includes the third and fourth semester and the advanced level is made up of the fifth and sixth academic semesters.
At the end of the advanced course there is the possibility to participate in the Fashion Design master courses.
The students, guided by valid professionals, learn to make their way in the fashion industry both from the design and from the market point of view, developing the special capabilities typical of the great fashion designers, a special sensibility towards the signs that foretell the fashion trends, learning to read the various stimuli to be able to translate them into fashion and into new trends to propose in the fashion shows.
Various kinds of fashion are covered during the school's program (sportswear, elegant, casual, avant-garde, etc.), developing both the design capabilities and the technical ability to produce these garments.
During the Fashion Design course the students have numerous occasions where they will be in direct contact with the industry, with designers, and with the public.
An integral part of the course are the fashion shows that our Fashion school organizes each year in Italy or in other countries.
At the end of each of our fashion school's academic year a specific certificate or diploma is awarded upon successful completion of all relative exams.
At the end of the third year the Accademia Italian awards its diploma and the University of Wales awards its bachelors degree.
The BA (Hons) degree program in Interior and Product Design is subdivided into six academic semesters.
In the first two semesters (basic Interior design course) the basics of technical drawing and drafting are covered, along with the technology of materials and the first design projects are proposed. The third and fourth are directed at a more specialized training as the student acquires the design capacity both for the single object and for interior spaces.
At the end of the three-year programs students are admitted into the Design Masters program. The students are encouraged to use the most varied materials, including new, experimental materials.
The Interior Design course will cover the development of design on an industrial scale and also "one of a kind" design. Traditional design instruments will be used together with the computer (CAD).
Historical and theory aspects complete the training process. External activities make up an integral part of the course, (participation in exhibitions, learning trips, contests, etc.) along with the internal seminars and workshops (encounters with designers and experts, seminars and practical laboratories).
At the end of each academic year a specific certificate or diploma is awarded upon successful completion of all relative exams. At the end of the third year the Accademia Italian awards its diploma and the University of Wales awards its bachelors degree.
The BA (Hons) degree program in graphic design and visual communication involves an innovative program of study that integrates professional training of the graphic design artist intended in the most traditional terms (illustration, lay-out, poligraphic techniques for publishing) together with the development of graphic design directed towards new multi-medial systems (internet, etc.). Expressive potential will be developed in various directions (photography, use of the image and study of color theory) that will be backed up by solid basis of the study of the dynamics of publicity and of the consequent market response, which will determine the training and the development of a professional figure with the characteristics of flexibility and competence.
The graphic design program is made up of six academic semesters. (three years of study).
Each year corresponds to a different level: basic, professional and advanced.
At the end of each academic year a specific certificate or diploma is awarded upon successful completion of all relative exams. At the end of the third year the Accademia Italian awards its diploma and the University of Wales awards its bachelor of arts degree.
The study program for "The Art of Photography" is a university level artistic training course and thus is characterized both by subjects that aim at the acquisition of a solid cultural preparation, as well as those practical experiences directed to the application of knowledge in various fields, from fashion to still-life, from photo-journalism to photography in and out of the studio.
The traditional photographic techniques, dark room experience and digital photography will be done side by side with the study of computer elaborated images (photoshop) and specific notions of graphic design and visual communication. The result is a professional figure able to operate on a global level, who has acquired the knowledge necessary to work on the most integrated and complex projects, developing specific techniques in various areas: fashion, publicity, journalism, sport and publishing.
The courses are taught by professionals in the field. Students will use the Accademia Italiana laboratories working individually and in groups. The first year is an introductory course, the second goes into more in depth investigation of the various disciplines and practical experiences. The third year is dedicated to the preparation of specific projects and the final thesis. During the three-year program students are invited to participate in exhibitions, conferences and workshops.
Interdisciplinary projects are encouraged involving the departments of fashion and design. The philosophy that lies at the heart of this program is that of experimentation on a global level of visual language and techniques to propose in the professional world not only as photographers but as creative artists who are able to communicate with images and who can give personalized responses to the necessities of a society and a market in continual evolution. Please note : The academic program for Photography and New Media begins each year only in September.

An experimental approach : Speaking to the students of the Accademia Italiana during a recent encounter organized by the school, the internationally famous photographer, Oliviero Toscani, gave this advice: "Don't be afraid to have doubts and of being insecure because often it is precisely the moment of major uncertainty that corresponds to the moment of maximum creativity." This declaration can, in part, express the concept that is at the basis of the teaching philosophy proposed. In fact, the best ideas are born out of unceasing research resulting by turning sure things upside down and taking the product and heading towards a process of experimentation.
For this reason the school, in addition to giving the student the technical and cultural basis, promotes the birth of new stimuli, even unusual ones, that will become specific research projects.
The school represents a moment of growth, but it is each individual student who will make the final choices on the basis of each one's own affinities.
The "maximum creative freedom" must always be accompanied by strong technical knowledge. This knowledge must include, together with photography, other areas pertinent to art, design and culture. This is the formative mission to which the Accademia Italiana is dedicated.
Three years. Every academic year begins only in September.
Among the opportunities offered by the Accademia Italiana a program of Textile design, a discipline that has such ancient roots and that has made such an important contribution to the destiny of the city of Florence could not have been left out.
The textile design course is divided into four academic semesters, the first two make up the basic course, and the third and fourth semesters make up the advanced course. The students will be working in professional studios, where they have well-equipped laboratories available including computers with software specific to textile design.
The best creations of the students will be shown to the public in exhibitions, thus creating contacts with the outside world and with the industries. The textiles created are sometimes studied for use in fashion design while others are created specifically for use in furnishings and interior design. The subjects cover both the theory and practical side of textile design. The textile designer is an indispensable figure within the industry, with wide-ranging professional possibilities within the production reality. It is a profession in which the creative capacities go hand in hand with technical training.
The program is developed in one academic year (2 semesters).
From the idea to the project, to the practical execution of the same, the academic course is designed to give all the knowledge that is necessary to create a true image professional who can work both in elegant boutiques as well as in large commercial spaces. Window displays and exposition spaces are treated in every aspect with the proposals elaborated in the most diverse styles and with the use of the most varied materials.
During the course the students have the opportunity to make real work experience. The best projects will in fact be set up by the students themselves in shops in the center of Florence.
With this program the Accademia Italiana offers the possibility of training in a professional that is ever more in demand.
This program can be attended for one or two years, or for one semester or only one month at a time (in the studio-art program).
It is also offered as a summer course. Students are assisted by art school instructors on an individual level in order to potentialize their expressive and technical capacities. Students will experiment with new materials and instruments which will be used along side the more traditional methods and materials. The course will be held in the artistic laboratory of the Accademia Italiana (art school) and includes lessons of life drawing and nude drawing, of various color and graphic techniques, of experimental materials and of various theoretical and historic disciplines. The program will involve a series of experiences where the student is called upon to give an active contribution in a process of continuous exploration of his or her own artistic individuality.
This art course is an artistic adventure, to be lived in the historic center of Florence, in direct contact with the great works of art, in an atmosphere unequaled in all the world.

The expanding of artistic knowledge and the evaluation of those signals that indicate a new trend in an artistic, cultural or social environment are of great use to the designer who can translate these data into fashion design proposals.
Today, art has exceeded its traditional boundaries to occupy new territories including that of fashion.
Based on the conviction that clothing can be an artistic fact, the Accademia Italiana of Florence (Italy) proposes this one-year Fashion Design master course with the aim of potentializing the design capabilities and the professionality of those students who have already acquired the necessary basic techniques.
The training process involves contact with fashion designers and industries, the study of the strategies linked to visual communication and to the use of media, the design and production of clothing and of accessories. Fashion is intended as a global system where the various areas of interest inter-react and where the fashion designer-creator becomes a key figure endowed with ample flexibility as well as specific competencies.
